Tissue Slides

Histology slides are derived from our archival formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue and can be prepared according to the needs of the client. When sectioned, tissue slides can be used for a variety of purposes such as routine light microscopy, special histochemical stains, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization and to study DNA, RNA and protein expression.

Proper paraffin slide preparation and storage is crucial for translational research projects involving immunohistochemistry stains. The following factors may have a considerable impact on the quality of the immunohistochemistry:

  • Storage Time

  • Oxidation

  • Hydrolysis

  • Tissue processing time

  • Sun or light exposure

  • Fixation time

  • Type of fixation

  • Tissue thickness

  • Tissue orientation and placement

  • Type of glass slide (charged/uncharged)

Our board certified pathologists and qualified personnel help facilitate optimal research outcomes through proper processing, handling, and storage of our FFPE tissue blocks and slides. We are able to deliver customized orders to suit the particular needs of your project.

Data elements supplied in electronic format accompany each FFPE slide order and can be customized to suit the researcher’s needs.
